My Summer Reading List...

Ever since I started writing Order of the Seers, I've been starving...for some good books.  My rule has been that I generally don't read anything sci-fi or fantasy related while I am writing.  To make matters worse, when I am writing, I feel guilty about taking any time away from my own project to read someone else's work.  The effect of all this is that I miss reading more and more each day!  So this summer, I'm going on a reading binge.  Here's just a few books on my summer reading list:

Between Dusk and Dawn By Lynn Emery (I'm listening to the audio book now...just amazing)
Seeking Georgia by Bettina Lanyi (Unfortunately, I can't share the link to this wonderful story with you because it is, at present, an unpublished work, but it's so witty and slyly observant that I will be badgering her to publish this gem on behalf of all people who like a great, well-written story.  Until then, you can check out her work here.)
Books 1-4 of the Game of Thrones series
Dune by Frank Herbert (because I haven't read it in so long)
Taurus Moon by D. K. Gaston (I loved his book Friday House)
The Bad Girl by Mario Vargas Llosa (it came HIGHLY recommended from a friend)
The Promise of Palmettos by Sheryse Dubose (because I love the title and I have a fascination with the south)
The Darkness by Crystal O'Connor (because *keep* hearing how good her stuff is)
Four Seasons of Love: A Romance Anthology by Kesha Redmon, Janell, A'ndrea Wilson, Vanessa Niki Davis
Blind Man's Bluff by Sherry Sontag and Christopher Drew (because J.P at Philly WizardCon recommended it to me.  It's about submarine espionage.  REAL submarine espionage!)
Redeemer by Balogun Ojetade (because I read the Steamfunk anthology that he put together with Milton Davis and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! So imaginative and unique.)
Breaking All My Rules by (my dear friend) Trice Hickman

Ok...that's it for now, but I will be adding more books as I gorge myself on all the glorious words I didn't have to write.  If you've got a book you think I should check out, please let me know :-)
